Seriously Depressing

My budget somehow got erased for all of 2009!!!

I spend hours on that thing every week. I get EXCITED when bills come so I can see how far under budget we came. I go to open it, and poof...the file is corrupted and gone. I'm circling the drain.

Halloween and Waffles

Me as Big Bird when I was maybe 2 or 3
Scott as ET...I don't know how old, Nancy do you know?

Things have been super crazy the past week and will continue to be crazy for the next couple of weeks. My regular bedtime has been pushed back to 4 am, while Scott has been spending long hours at school in the clinic. He had mock competency on the morning of Halloween, which is a practice run for their competency test which allows them to begin working in the clinic on patients next semester. It's a big deal because they have to be able to do an entire exam by themselves. So, he has been super stressed (and using me as a patient, so my eyes have recieved A LOT of abuse lately), but he did really well at the mock competency, so it has taken some of the stress off.

For Halloween night we were bums and didn't hand out candy. Our street doesn't get much traffic since we are off the beaten path, so instead, we spent the money on other good things that we got to eat...such as cookie dough and sparkling grape juice. We then spent the rest of the night successfully avoiding anything productive and watched a movie while laying by a fire (it was cold enough again...as long as you leave the windows open)! It was a great night that was a much needed night off.

Then, this morning I woke up to breakfast in bed made by Scott!! He made my favorite, belgian waffles with cut up peaches and whip cream!! It was delicious and much appreciated. He's a great husband!

Now we're off to have a picnic in the park with a couple of our good friends! It's GORGEOUS outside today!

Kind of a lame update I know, but our lives only consist of school right now, and are quit boring. Oh, and the pictures are random and just meant to spice the post up a bit.

Cold Weather

The weather has finally turned colder...it was in the 60's today!! That's a big deal here in Tx. So, we lit a fire and kept all the windows open. I love it!!! Of course I'm also fine if it just stays in the 60's and never goes higher or lower for the whole winter season.

Summer Days

I found these photos on my computer and it made me think how much fun summer was as a kid. Getting dirty, playing in the water, seeing family (the two in the orange and red jacket are my 2nd cousins, the other is my older brother Neil), getting into trouble, and having hair cuts I could NEVER pull off again (if you can consider me having pulled it off the first time). I miss summer as a kid.

These pictures were taken on a trip to visit my Uncle Mike and my Mom's cousin Bebo (I think his real name is David) in North Carolina...I'm not sure on the date.

Alright...

I've put it off long enough. I have been a complete slacker when it comes to the blogging arena, and thus I have a lot of things I haven't blogged about. Unfortunately this makes me feel overwhelmed, and as my mom could tell you, when I'm overwhelmed I just don't do anything. Hence why as a child my room was consistently messy.

Here is my solution. I will post a few pictures from the various activities and call it done. If you really want more from any particular section you can make a request, but I can't guarantee anything.

For starters: FL with my family. We had a blast and the weather was great. Check out those ears! Gotta love 'em! Because who wouldn't want to be like Uncle Scott? (Or is she just looking in his shorts?)
After FL we drove through Atlanta and had lunch with one of my Aunts and Uncles, then drove up to NC and saw my other Aunt and Uncle who live up in the mountains. Unfortunately, me in all my wisdom, didn't get any pictures of either of them! Shame on me. It is positively gorgeous in NC and we had a blast!

This was a totally natural occurrance

Then we drove from NC to TN to see Scott's parents. With the exception of one photo of us with Scott's Grandma Harris, I don't have any pictures from when we were there, but I do have some cool sunset/storm shots from the drive up.Then, we drove home and 3 weeks later went up to the lake in Dallas for Labor Day weekend, since my brother Neil's family was going to be in town (they weren't able to come to beach). I only got one picture the whole weekend. A couple of weeks after that, I went to UT for my nephew Miles's baby blessing. While up there, I also went to my old college roommate's wedding.

Neil and Winston TRYING to make fire from nothing. Finally, my little brother Winston came down to visit and we went crabbing while Scott was at school. Caught these 4 babies in15 min. of crabbing. And they tasted good too!

Now that you've read the longest post ever, I'm all caught up.

Great Quote!!

My Dad sent me this quote today...it pretty much says it all.

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Best Husband Ever!

Yesterday, Scott came home from school early and surprised me with flowers. So, we got to spend a rare few hours together before I had to go to YW. He's the greatest!
