A shoe? Random. We decide it is maybe kids who were in the yard and throwing shoes...at random skylights...????? So, I get up and go to the bathroom while Scott goes out back again to investigate. As I'm in the bathroom I hear him out in the back yard yelling "Hey...Hey!" I immediately go and look through our blinds to see Scott ushering a very well built, large, bleeding man into our shed. Scott then locked the shed and ran inside yelling at me to call the cops because he locked a drunk man in our shed!! Scott then proceeds to tell me that he saw the guy jump the fence from the park, got his attention (which I heard), and then asked if the guy was missing a shoe. The guy replied that he was missing a shoe, but that he was running from the cops and his wife and asked if he could hide in our shed. Scott thought this a brilliant idea since our shed only opens from the outside and has pretty durable locks. So, he escorted the gentleman in there and locked him inside.
While we were waiting for the cops to get here (it took about 45 minutes for them to arrive - the paramedics got there in about 5 minutes, but wouldn't go in without cops) the guy starts trying to break out of our shed and pushed out a vent in the roof and shook the doors pretty hard, but made no progress.
After the cops got there and opened the shed, expecting him to come out fighting, they look in and can't see him. So they look around and he had climbed behind some plywood boards that we use to board up our house for hurricanes and gone to sleep...without pants on. Luckily he was at least wearing boxers. So they cuffed him and took him to the front of the house where he then proceeded to run from the cops...they jumped in their cars and grabbed him.
Apparently he had come home super drunk, his wife told him to leave and she was going to call the cops, he bolted got on their neighbors roof, hopped into the park, ran over to our house, somehow got on our roof, stepped through our skylight, made it down off the roof and back into the park, hopped the fence back into our yard where he then encountered Scott.
Turns out he lives 2 houses down from us. He was a state wrestling champ and well built - which makes me extremely glad that he didn't decide to fight Scott at some point when he was out there. Later his wife came over asking if we had found his pants. We found them stashed behind a different set of boards in the shed...maybe he thought if he could get out at least his ID would be stashed??
All in all, a very eventful morning.

HOLY CRAZY!!! That's nuts, glad everyone is safe. Will the family pay for your damages?
wow!! an eventful morning indeed. no pants?! sheesh.
That is NUTS!!!!! Some kind of craziness going on in quiet Houston suburbia. Hope potential buyers don't get wind of it. :)
Good Grief!! So glad you weren't there by yourself! Hope it won't be too hard to replace your skylight. Was there much damage to the shed? Maybe insurance will give you and new shed and patio cover?? That might make it worth submitting a claim? Well, I hope he is put away for a long time where he can be safe. I can't believe he could get himself up on a roof...twice! I do love the no pants part.
